Hey, sorry, just saw this.
Yes, I bought hte Giant Cypress Matte Grey for $150 and it's pretty cool.

I have biked at least 50 mi so far.
I biked 15 mi going from bedstuy to Prospect park doing 2 bike loops and then home.
I also biked from bedstuy to 34th st in Manhattan last weekend during summer streets (they close down park ave up to central park. i also biked to work and back which is 10mi. Didn't get too sweaty so I may try to bike to work 1-2 times per week.

I've also done in neighborhood riding, and fort greene park, but i didn't calculate it.

I'll be riding to prospect park in about 40 min and will do 2-3 loops today

At the minimum I want to bike 15 miles per week. That's one trip to the park on a Sat/Sun morn which shouldnt be hard to fit into my schedule now that I'm back at work.

But it definitely has been fun to ride.

:)

well, I'm getting better at it. It took me 22mins to finish the loop. My friend who is in much better shape finished in 19-20mins.

However, she was probably having an off day.

I know I can cut time off of that if I can perform better on that hill!!!

I'm told that the central park loop is a nice ride and double the size. I'm booked for the next two weekends, but will try to ride up to central park via the west side highway (the piers have bike lanes).

Then I have to find a place that will allow me to ride during the winter. Or at least come up with a replacement sport that's not toooooo hard on my knees until I loose more weight.

I hear ya, been thinking about what to do in winter also. I plan on joining a gym, that way I can use the treadmill. I'm down to 295lbs. now and feeling great.
There's a free phone app called 'runtastic road bike' that I like to use...it tells you distance, time and calories burned ect. ..... I highly recommend it.
