Just curious if anyone has used chaeto in one of the back chambers of a biocube? I was thinking of taking the carbon cartridge out of chamber 1 and putting in a small pile of chaeto or maybe using both in the same chamber. Thoughts?

When I had my 55 gallon a couple years back, I constantly tested 15-20 for nitrates. Once I added some Chaeto, it took about a month and my nitrates tested at 0. Keep in mind, I did have the Chaeto in an in-tank refugium under a 6 bulb teklight fixture, and I pruned the Chaeto once a week. I don't know if it would be this effective on other aquariums, but I did have tremendous success with it. It maintained my nitrates at 0. Also, before I added the Chaeto I had a hair algae problem and after a few months with the Chaeto, it all cleared up (at the time, I didn't have a phosphate test kit). I contribute my success with that tank to the Chaeto, because it is the only thing I changed.

Yes, I have the "inTank Fuge Basket for Coralife BioCube" works well with "inTank Media Basket for Coralife BioCube". I attached the JBJ Nano-Glo Led Refugium Light on the back.
