I can't say how pleased I am with the setup. Great nano tank!
PM for questions or suggestions!

Not to come across all Tang Police on you, but I think that's a mite small for a Purple Tang...

Otherwise a nice little tank indeed!

Keeping a small tang in a small tank, on a temporary basis, is acceptable as long as the aquarist is willing to get it out if it shows any signs of stress. That will happen eventually as the tang grows.

I have a small yellow tang in my 24G right now. I need it for algae control. When the algae's gone, so is the tang. But he is perfectly happy now. He doesn't show any signs of stress at all. (purple's are a little more agressive though)

Vitz has a powder blue in his 20. I think he rescued it from an LFS and nursed it back to health. Then he decided to keep it for awhile as it is doing fine too.

So there are some instances when keeping a tang in a smaller tank is okay IMHO. You just need a responsible fishkeeper in charge. ;)

I personally think there are borderline tank sizes where you might be under the suggested "limit" where it probably doesn't matter so much (i.e. putting a yellow tang in a 80g rather than a 90g). But with nanos, I think you have to be certain that you have the next step (rehousing) already planned out, as too many people think "Well I'll move him out when he gets too big" and then keep stretching out that day way beyond when they should. But YMMV. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. ;)

Actually, I don't disagree with this statement. If they're not already planning the rehousing, then they shouldn't get a tang.
