Can I cycle a 10 gal nano tank under 50 watts of regular full sepectrum lihgts from a freshwater tank? I know that I have to change them when I start andding coral to the tank. Someone told me that the bactira and the corallina alge will grow under no fuloresnt lights is this true.

Cycling a tank and building up the denitrifying bacteria requires no light what-so-ever, however some hitchikers that require light may die off. Most species of coralline algae require light to thrive, but will quickly recover when
you add your new lights.
