I've never posted much on this site, but I'm finding I like it more than RC lately, so I thought I'd give you all a tase of my ever evolving 29gal. I started this about three years ago. As of now the tank is a 29gal via aqua,and I have a 5gal CPR HOB fuge with a DIY rowareactor in it..lighting is 6x24W T5 TEK retros from reefgeek.com. The tank has been skimmerless since the start...Cal and Alk are maintained with DIY 2-part.....and now the pics

simply amazing, and we are glad to have you on here. What I like most about that system is the acro growth and COLOR, sharp as liquid crystal if I do say so.

It's neat to see those beefy skeletons all colored up just with a clean maintenance approach and two part dosers, your calcium and alk is about perfect by any standard I can see. Thank you for posting and giving us proof that low tech/high biology standards hand with all the bells and whistles of the corvette approach :)

Incredible. So now what, it looks as if you are out or room in this tank. Do you start agressivley fragging everything to work down the volume in your tank or are you just going to sit back and enjoy it from now on without any other intervention?

Very nice tank. I have got a ton of questions for you. I am also starting a 29g tank and would appreciate any startup, setup and well any information you can provide. The last time I ran a salt tank was over 9 years ago and man have things changed.

Is it a lot of maintenance keeping that much stuff in a small tank?
I see no fish, is this a no fish tank?
Is it better with a small tank to keep no fish?
Would you be able to keep the tank so nice if you also had a few small fish in it?

Please pardon my ignorance here but could you enlighten this poor soul on what the following means;

5gal CPR HOB fuge

DIY rowareactor

DIY 2-part

I am currently cycling mine with about 30lbs of live rock only. I have a seaclone skimmer, I know about its rep but mine works great. I used a 50/50 mix of live sand and regular sand, I have an aquaclear mechanical filter on the back and basic lighting. I know already that the lighting unit has to be changed and will do that very soon. On that topic, any suggestions on a good light for this tank? Oh yeah I also have a single rotating power head with plans to add another one when I get my next batch of live rock. The tank is only 5 days old so I have some time yet to decide on the next step.
