could these two fish live in same housing>? 24 gallons with 20lbs live rock? i know both are passive, but with eachother could they become aggressive? They will also be living with two clowns!

Springer's dottyback is passive for a dottyback. I've never kept this exact species combination but I have kept P. fridmani with a firefish in a 125 gallon tank. It didn't work out well for the firefish.

I think fire/dartfishes are best suited for species specific nano tanks or with only completely passive fish. Even a big angel or tang swimming by will scare them into hiding.

hmm, ok that makes sense, do you have any other suggestions of a nice fish that will go with a springer's dottback and 2 false percs (CB)? Or should i just leave them 3 fish in and thats it? thankx

There are some small cardinals I would consider.

Ounce for ounce I don't think you can beat a clown goby (Gobiodon spp.) though. Probably the most endearing little nano fish there is.

I know I'm a little late getting in on this post, but wanted to add my 2 cents...I have a Springer's at the recommendation of my LFS. He's in my AQ24 with a Ocellaris Clown, Yellow Watchman, and Longnose Hawk, and let me tell you he's a real BULLY!!!! I think I'm going to catch him and put him in my 20L with my Royal Gramma. I love the little guy (cool fish), but his bullying is driving me crazy!

Somehow I don't see that going to well either. RG's aren't known for their ability to put up with aggressive fish well. Unless you have a brazilian RG, which apparently are more aggressive. I have only had the "standard" RG, and they were cowards, cool, but cowards.

How do clown gobies act? I've heard a lot about them but I thought they just perched all day long...

Looking to add a fish to my 5G nano and wanted some suggestions in addition to to clown gobies.

What color is yours, by the way?

he is yellow, lemme say this the best fish i have, its took him bout two - three weeks to feel comfortable around the more aggressive eaters like clowns but now wow!!! he does perch all day but snuggles into corals its real cool, now at feeding time he comes up and eats with everyone, he watches everything biggest personality in the smallest fish, they are hermaferdites lol so if u get two one will become feamle, i only have 1 tho. but def a thumbs wayyyy up go get it!!!   :D
