where to begin....ok...i've got a 12g eclipse with a 96w powerquad and 70w 14k mh over the back portion of the tank. i've got an ac200 semi-fuge kind of thing. a rio 180 and 600 provide the flow. a bakpak2r with a rio 600 as the pump skims the organics from the water(or at least that's what it is supposed to do). this tank was a species specific up until around november of last year...which is when i fell in love with acans(just before the acan craze...i'm NOT a follower!!!).

for fish i have a 2.5 inch tomato clown that has been with me since the beginning(august/september of 03) and a neon dottyback that is a fairly new addition(the tomato needed a buddy, as my gf said.).

this tank is the tank for my more prized pieces(rare lps/sps/zoos). i also have a 10g(the leftovers i liked but decided to take out of the 12g) and a 6g eclipse (all the other expensive lps).

a bta will be fine in there..It may out grow the tank, but will survive if given the proper care...

you put a rbta in a 12 gallon. my lfs said that wouldnt be good even in a 24.

yeah, my roommate decided that he had to have one(i'm totally against anemones in nanos). when he realized he couldn't take care of it properly he asked if i could do anything to try to save it. so i put it in my 12g for about a week or so until it started to look better then i put it in my 10g(which at the time had no coral...just rock and the 70w mh).

btw, you trust everything your lfs says? that sucks. you've got to read and gather as much information as you possibly can to survive in the reefing world...otherwise you'll get suckered into buying gonioporas, elegance corals, dendronepthyas, believing that you can't put btas into a nano, etc. :D

seriously? :?

the majority of elegance corals imported and bought, end up dead in the hands of hobbiests like ourselves. not many people actually can keep/have kept an elegance coral alive for longer than a year or two.

Great tank, where do you get your Zoo's from? Is there any good online places where you can actually view the ones your buying. Also better yet with cool Zoo's likeyours, not just plain green or brown etc..

i've actually just lucked out on some of the zoos(the ones in my avatar for example...found them at a lfs!) but most of them i've traded for. i'm not really one for e-tailing just because i feel like i can't fully trust the coloration of the corals being sold unless i can see it with my own eyes. yeah, i'm a weirdo like that. if you have 20k mh over your tank you can check out aquadesignz.com....he always has nice zoos but if you don't have 20k they'll look entirely different.
