I have a Mini Bow 7 and I want a HOB Skimmer. I am going to eventually build a sump but it will be much later. Until then I would like to purchase a good HOB Skimmer. What brand and model would work for me?
I have a 12g jbj nano and it is doing great without a skimmer. i got analgae bloom after i turned on the lights but my clean up crew is taking care of it.
Perhaps a Prizm Skimmer would be a worthy investment? They're not the best out there by a long shot, but are great for small aquaria and do a decent job at what they're supposed to do, that being skim.
What do you intend to keep? A simple weekly water change of around 2 gallons with a high quality salt mix may be all you need to keep your tank running. I've a 15g and I swear by old fashioned water changes and a sizeable refugium (5g, in my case).
