I was going to manufacture my own acrylic tank. I'm glad I didn't - I never would've gotten everything ready on time (knock wood - I'm still not quite done with setup).
Maybe for some future project. I'm going to make a skimmer, so that'll get me some acrylic experience.
Anyway, looking forward to see what you end up with.
