Hey guys, any of you had any luck with skimmers for a 5.5g.

I just measured and its only 10" tall, and no sump.

Wanted to know if anyone is using a skimmer on a 5.5g, and if so, what type.

All the skimmer's i've found require 14-17 inches of room behind the tank, but I have no room to hand the skimmer off the back of the tank since its on a counter...no room to hand the skimmer on the side either.

So i'd need one that can stand or hang freely with only 10" of room on back of tank?

Any suggestions?

thanks.

Something that small, I'd go with a fuge of some kind, and regular water changes.

I don't know of any skimmer that is that small, and worth the money.

well i do have an AC300 hooked up for now with circulation and a sponge that i clean weekly. I chould just throw in some LR rubble, sand and Cheato too.

IT would be nutrient export, but dont know if it will equal the same nutrietnt export or equivelant nutrient export as a skimmer...

this willl be nicely stocked 5.5g with sps and lps.

I can always try to see how it goes though....doesnt hurt.

I think i might go for the remora - just have to see if there is room behind it so the remora can hang off the tank, and off the side of the table its on.

any other suggestions?
