PC Height from Water

Quick question, gotta run here in a second. What's a good height off the water for two 28watt (1 Actinic 1 10K) on a 5gal nano? Going to be keeping mostly mushrooms, softies, no real plans for SPS.

Right now they're 6" but would like to see better growth on my polyps.

Just curious as I've seen some tanks here where the lights look like they're on top of the water.

well they can be closer, but theres the issue of heat, and 1 28 watt would be enough for a softie and mushroom tank, 2 is definately sps

I had my 2x32 6" above the water in one hood I built, and when I switched to a new hood with the lights 3" off the water, my corals started growing a lot faster.

BTW, do you know about www.manhattanreefs.com ?

I think I can modify my hood to be adjustable so if 3" makes things too hot I'll move it back up. I just see pictures of other tanks and they seem so bright compared to mine.
