Clams in a nano

Here's the growth on one of my maximas. I haven't seen a pyramidelline snail yet. I used to have them on a derasa clam in my old tank, but removed them by brushing him off with a toothbrush EVERY day for about a month.

Sorry about the quality of the pic. I had to fiddle in photoshop to show the white part of the shell.

A ?.... what is the smallest of the clams(crocea, squamosa) and how long can you have them in your tank (mine is 20gallon) before they will out grow it????
