Skimer

What is the best external skimer for a ten gallon? I would like to add a little more bio-load. I am currently using a regular whisper filter w/ carbon. Price is kinda a issue due to college. Thanks all.

i would make my own. tons of plans out there. of course i like building my own things- part of the fun of aquariums IMO. they are pretty simple in design.

LOL... I never knew what a skimer was! I would build my own too, if I really wanted one. You can probly get away with water changes for nutrient export a lot easier. The bakpak is a great skimmer for nanos.

I'm with Matt about not needing a skimmer, but I really want someone to post some DIY skimer plans. I think I could use it in my Nano.

ya, now that i think of it, for a nano, i would prolly go the refugium route, rather than protein skimmer.
