My Tank is 24G. Its about 13inches high and 36inches long. So its quite long and shallow. Which is just perfect since I am using currently NO flouro tubes.
I am going to install HIGH OUTPUT T5's as soon as my order arrives.
I previously had T5 tubes installed, but because the tubes were not designed for marine use, my corals didnt grow much at all, and I took them off.
The corals started to grow again. I have now found T5 tubes made by Arcadia for reef use.

The sand bed is about 3inches. I am running a RedSea Prizm skimmer as well. I dose with Kents calcium and C-Balance.

One thing I like about Reefs. ORG's Nano forum is by searching here, you will find reef aquariums that utilize shape as one measure to control certain aspects of the reef's dynamics and performance. Your corals do not appear any different than if they were under Mh's! Your shallow tank has broken the rule of standard outputs by providing a long, shallow zone which is obviously working well.

Two major benefits I see in running a reef like this:

1. No Heat.

2. Affordable bulb replacement (most affordable out there)

This is a great nano reef.
