Lowes now has several new Ritelite PC worklight models including a 2x13 watt with independant switches for each bulb and a extra grounded outlet. It also has 2 hangers. The only negative is the length of the fixture/grip as the ballast is built-in. A plus though for those who dislike bulky ballast-plugs. I may replace my Mini-Might 2x9 watt with it for my 'utility' light in my 29 canopy.

LED headlights showed up on a recent concept car! Output is getting better and better!

Unfortunately, I find 2x13 watts over a 29 gallon to be insufficient. You'd probably need multiple units to have enough light to support most corals, which ends up costing a bit more then a simple DIY standard fluorescent or even powercompact setup. These 2x13 watts might work well on those with pico sized (<5 gallons that is) aquariums though. How much are they, and any links?

Hey Milton, how much do they want for those dual 13w setups? Hopefully their ballasts are cheap and we can switch out the bulbs for 50/50's. If they are configured like I am thinking, it might be a neat strip lite replacement and would at least be more powerful than the 9x2 setup.

If you are talking about a Coralife MiniMight setup they should still run about $60/housing and $7-11$ per bulb. Ive been able to grow quite a bit of coral under the 9x2 setup, but they have to be packed in close!

I would like to supplement some lighting with another galaxy light from the side, its a 13watt and one can find really nice half actinic/half daylight bulbs to fit any dual-pin 13w fixture at:

Hey Leonard,
I purchase my 2x9 mini pc setup from www.aquaticeco.com

Not sure if its on the site, but I got a catalog from this site and ordered off it. ps, this store has the single largest selection of biological supplies Ive ever ever seen. Complete hydroponic labs that produce 40,000 pounds of edible fish per year (FW) and side-produce thousands and thousands heads of lettuce for $16K.

Protein skimmers 20ft tall weighing almost one ton empty, supplies they sell to Sea World.

Then they have every selection of azoo products made, including a rare Azoo micro chiller, plumbed for nano aquariums. Tiny lights of every assortment, okay Im rambling, check it out!

The funniest thing is in part of the advertisement they have this curvy blonde in a red dress catting up the side of the skimmer, her hands only reaching 1/3 of the way... I couldnt stop eyeballing the skimmer.

lmao John!

Now THERE'S a true fish-geek...hot blonde, super skimmer--eyes riveted on the skimmer. I'm the same way--whenever I see some reef show on tv and they've got the binkini-clad models swimming around snorkeling, my wife slugs me for looking at the women and I'm like, "There were women there? Did you see that huge acro??"
