12 Gal Aquapod - Rimless?

I've seen images online of people removing the rim from their AP 12's and I think it looks great.

Does anyone here have any experience with this or thoughts on the matter?

That would be cool. I just got one too and mine had no hood. Looking for a clamp light solution. Keep me informed.
