Controller was a dud but lamp works at 100% without one? How high above the tank to fill it with light?

The controller only programs the light intensity and acts as a timer.They recommend no more than 12" above the water line.

Not sure yet Justin but nano fish to begin with.Got one of those Springer Damsels.Maybe a Pistol shrimp and the goby to go with it.

Finally got my sexy hand crafted Elos PS 200 skimmer with a Sicce Needle wheel pump.Pump not shown.
