  1. skimmers

my aquac remora is both quiet and unbelievable efficient at removing ...stuff. I highly recommend it. You will only need the remora, not the "pro", and i found the optional skimmer box akward and do not use it. The version you will want is the maxijet 1200 version. I know premium aquatics...
  2. Need third fish advice

So my 40long has the space for a third fish. I've got a mandarin and flame angel currently. my LFS has recommended getting a tang. i consider my tank to be two nano's joined together, and need a reef safe and not dirty and not too big third fish. Any suggestions/advice/warnings? thanks...

certo. also, the hikari version of blood worms is super clean, and claims to be "vitamin soaked" i assume (as i'm a casual guy) your fancy scientific name refers to what i'm calling an urchin? steve
  4. Set-up feedback on new nano

went to modularhose.com that is the shiznit great site and i'm sure it'll be perfect! steve

incidentally, the big lump of rock above the brain coral (in whole tank pic above) is some type of clam/mollusk/bivalve thing that's still alive. I cycled the tank with that rock, and it still slams closed when i disturb it. i love nanos that you can cycle rock and do enough water changes to...

the mandarin has been in since mid sept, so about 3 months. the flame angel only for one month.

I am totally blown away that you'd sticky me for a bit. My sum total maintenance/husbandry is: 1. Change 2 gallons of saltwater every other week 2. change the carbon/floss cartridge when changing the water. 3. put a frozen cube of Hikari bloodworms in every other day. I purchase premade...
  11. many or few

Once again, i appreciate the response. any recommended brand of wavemaker? it sounds like you don't recommend a L-R flow, more of a front-back. do i have that right? i'd been planning maxijets, but it's good to hear a second vote. thanks steve
  12. many or few

i'm trying to squeeze a question in here cause i prefer the advice from here. So when planning my move from 10g to a 40g long (which i consider a nano, just stretched out), i realized the little powerhead that swirls things around in the 10g will be inadequate for water movement in the 40...

And in the whole tank view, you can see the flame angel in the more recent view; it's the reason i'm moving to a 40g long tank soon.
