Well, The reef is established now. Everything is doing well. I can't put too much, if any more bioload in to the system. I have reached a nice balance on the system. I don't really have to scrub the glass, if at all, between water changes (via the macro and coralline algae and skimmer -...

I have done that...belive me it's lame. In my experince, an unmaintaned FW plant tank can look worse than anything in no time flat as the hair algae takes over......

Metal Halide is the king (IMHO). I am only runningone bulb, I have only bulb to replace once year, I have only one ballast.....plus I get the cool pendant light and open top tank I always wanted.......yada yada yada

I feed my tank live mosquito wigglers from five gallon bucket way out back… the fish always seem to love em…and I figure the risk of parasites is minimal/none due to the salt….no problems to date. (i am almost positive I will get yelled at for this one)
