If every Joule of energy produced by upgrade entered the tank. (350 watts to 800watts heating 190 liters of saltwater) And there was no additional evaporation or other means of cooling. And you ran the bulbs for a total of 8 hours a day -- the maximum change in temp. would be...
I've see calibration fluid sold online....
For the money they're asking, if you have acess to just a tiny bit of lab equipment, you could make your own calibration solution... with almost no problems at all.... it's really very easy.

Welcome,
Very well done tank!
How long have you had the clams in there? Haven't heard of many people having long term success with just pc lighting....thats why I ask...
I'm certainly impressed/jealous!
And thanks for sharing with us.... :D
Statistically speaking, each time you flip a coin your odds are still 50:50. But the odds of hitting heads every time you flip gets worse and worse each time you flip.
Having two heaters is more like flipping two coins and hoping either they both hit heads or both hit tails each time you flip...
Not to be pessimistic -- but with two heaters you also have double the chances of one getting stuck on and overheating the tank...which the GFIC does not necessarily catch.....
One more consideration... Are you heating the tank? If so to what extent would / could be the temp differential of the surrounding room be? ( For me it's a significant amount)
I live in the N.E. and I understand we have very high electric rates compared to much of the rest of the country...
Reefstar,
Interesting decision you're making. In my tank I went with both Caribsea Seaflor Special Grade and Southdown. They both have their advantages, I haven't had too much "blowing around" with this combination. Though I can see how with just Southdown it could be moved around more...
Just cracked open a pallet at the (New) Londonderry Home Depot...for anyone who's interested. It's out in the lawn and garden area, up high in the racking...
HTH!
