  1. Id this nudibranch/flatworm ?

David, Thanks for the help. After looking up Durvilledoris pusilla I believe you got it. Any idea on what it feeds on or if it would be safe to keep? It does look cool. I have found a lot of sites that mention Durvilledoris pusilla but I haven't found any that mention their diet or how they...
  2. Id this nudibranch/flatworm ?

I just found this in my tank. Can anyone tell me what it is and if it is harmful or beneficial? I currently have it isolated until I can find out what it is. It's anywhere from 1/4 inch to 1 inch depending on how stretched out it is. And despite the pictures from my camera, it looks...
  3. Some coral questions

I have a couple questions regarding some coral in my tank. I've had an open brain in my tank for about a week now. Sometimes it looks full, sometimes not quite so much. I noticed three 'ports' on top that look like that might be how they breathe? Anyway, there was a black strand coming from one...
  4. Ich

Thanks for the link Terry :) Okay, after a LONG night of removing 100 lbs of rock, removing all fish, replacing all rock... I now have a sore back, and a 90 gallon tank with 30 hermits, 12 snails, and a cleaner shrimp. I have to set up a QT tank yet and then transfer the fish from the sump...
  5. Ich

I've tried taking picture after picture. It's clear as day but it doesn't show up in pictures. Here's the best pic I got of it. It also seems to be a bit easier to see today than yesterday (ie: getting worse)
  6. Ich

They're eating and breathing fine... and except for occasionally arcing into the substrate (in what might be scratching) they are acting fine. I'm beginning to wonder if it might be something other than ich. The spots are larger than pictures I've seen of ich. Rather than table salt sized they...

Oh I didn't mean changing the water back and forth either. I meant using water from the main tank to replace water taken out of the QT. The main tank is now 'infected' so at any given time (I guess until 4-6 weeks of no fish have passed) there could be (probably are) parasites swimming in the...
  8. Ich

Thanks for replying Laura, You're right. I can get by with a much lesser setup. (I guess my original post was a kneejerk reaction to all the work ahead) A question though.. is using my main tank's water for QT water changes a good idea? Won't I just be putting any parasites that are in the...
  9. Ich

Well, it finally happened... Ich In the past I have always dealt only with store A. I left the hobby for a while and just came back and have finished cycling my setup. I recently watched an employee at store A dosing one of their large systems and asked what it was. He said copper. So I assume...
  10. Lost Thread - Switched Power Strip

It was on ReefCentral. A few of their members found it (and the hardware I was referring to) for me. Just in case anyone here didn't catch it, here is the link. It really is an awesome setup and excellent thread. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showt ... did=273216
  11. Lost Thread - Switched Power Strip

I read a thread (not sure if here or reefcentral) that followed someone setting up his system. I think there were over 100 pages to the thread. Anyway, he had put a sump and electrics side by side in his stand separated by a sheet of acrylic. On the electrics side he had a power strip with eight...

  13. substrate decisions - dsb crashes

Is not a problem Lonnie :D It's an easy thing to do when reading/writing words without inflections.
  14. substrate decisions - dsb crashes

ICG, You took a piece of my sentence and made it out of context. I didn't say I could do without having to do water changes... I said I could do without having to do them just to be able to chunk around in the substrate with a siphoning vaccuum. In other words, I would prefer not having to...
  15. do you cover up your tank ??

I'm setting up a 90 with PC lights (4x 65watt) and was planning to use glass covers. The 50 gallon sump will be uncovered. Does this sound like it will work okay? Fish stay in the display. Sump allows evaporation.
