  1. Help me ID this (algae?) please

It could be those dreaded dinoflagellates. Check the library for more info.
  2. what vinegar is safe to use?

This is getting into an entirely different area but the use of strong acids and bleach could be questionable from an environmental standpoint. I personally would suggest avoiding such materials when food safe and more than likely aquarium safe vinegar works just as well. Why take the chance of...
  3. Automatic Feeders

Thanks for the information everyone. I'll probably go with one of the Eheim feeders. They seem to be popular with a lot of people. There's a twin model out now that looks interesting.
  4. Automatic Feeders

Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have also stated that I'm looking for a battery powered one or at the very least, one with a battery back-up.
  5. what vinegar is safe to use?

Pickling vinegar packs a bit more punch but tends to be more expensive. Standard white does the job.
  6. Automatic Feeders

I'm going to be away for a week or so at a time when the weather finally warms up and am looking for recommendations/suggestions.

Shane, The link to the mirror site has been dead for at least a few years. The e-mail address is about the same age ;) I'd also kill the new articles and updated part and change the copyright date. Not too many changes eh? ;) Want me to send you the corrections? TTYL, Kevin

Shane, I should be around on irc later too. I don't think I've got much to do tonight unless that skel clown loads me up with some more work ;) Thanks all for the kind words regarding the index :) It's been my baby for a long time and hated to see it die. A lot of good reference material...

  15. Los Angeles Times article on 'Finding Nemo' film

I don't see why all these organizations feel the need to post their positions on a movie that is bound to be scientifically inaccurate. I'll be going to the movie to enjoy it and not look for any supposed hidden messages. If it does make people think about the moral issue of keeping organisms in...
