    I have read mixed things about the Phosphate test from Hanna. I have recently started to switch over from Red Sea tests to Hanna but want some MR members opinions about the phosphate test. Does anyone have first hand experience with this test? Is it better/easier than Red Sea or Salifert?

    Red Slime. Its actually bacterial. Siphon as much of it off the sand bed and any affected rocks as you can and try and reduce feeding. You can also dose some Red Slime remover products. I've had good luck with Ultra Life Red Slime remover. There are a few others out there.

  12. L O U D tunze ATO pump

    Agree with noel. The Tunze pump is so loud. My tank is in the basement (fully insulated) and I can hear the pump turn on from my living room. Maybe I will try lowering flow to the lowest setting but not holding my breath.
