I find my Classic works well. One thing I discovered with mine was the need for a stong pump. The pump Berlin advertised ( and I bought even after reading a thread which said what I'm about to say) is not even close to being stong enough to run the skimmer. I found that my skimmer ran well...

As my tank is now about nine months old I have developed a bright lime green to forest green (algae?)(coraline algae?) growth on everything (except the glass). This growth seems to be a dusting, to full covering in thickness(but not as enveloping as my purple and pink coraline). Is this green...

On the otherside of this question what high end concentration of calcium would be considered dangerous to coral and fish? Or maybe I should ask, what is the highest someone has seen thier calcium go with little or no ill effects??

Cant mag pumps be run out of water? Arn't they advertised as being able to be run submerged or dry?

A couple of months ago I picked up the thread on overdriving T-8 bulbs with a 4-way electronic ballast. I tried it and it works as advertised. My question is....Has anybody been doing this for a long period of time, and can they give any feedback on the results? :?:

Is it possible that the carbon would transport chlorine from the tap water and release it into my salt water? And what, if any, would be the effects if any of carbon dust being released into the main tank? :roll:

Is it unwise to rinse the dust off of activated carbon with tap water? If it is how does everybody else rinse it?

Man Hippo I DO LOVE softies, thas why I need to know if my emerald turning white is a sign hes going to shed. If it is I might try to fish him out for a quick snack! :P On a serious note I just want to make sure he's not sick.

I was wondering if anybody has seen thier emerald crab before it molts? Does it start to turn white on the back of its caripice? I don't often see mine and when I did I noticed his back is turning white as well as his sides. Any ideas? :?
