I have one and was not happy with the flow and noise and broken belts and general construction. Rock-work really impeads flow of these units. The big unit would do ok in a sparce 55. I switched to Tunze streams and am also going to go with an oceansmotions.com unit.
Well Jeff,
It looks as though you have seen the light and purchased a car from the Mother Land of autos. Very nice project car. That sunroof is going to slow you down a bit. What year RS is it. I am presently working on a blown 1994 3.6L 964. maybe our paths will cross oneday at the track...
I am running a MK4 on my Bullet 2 and have to knock it back a bit but the thing rocks. I also have a Blue Line on my chillers. It too rocks. As far as noise goes I would say that they are both quiet. One not more than the other.

On the 250 socket you will see 2 screws on each end of the ceramics. Adjust the screws so that the bulb fits in nice and snog. If you do not do this the bulb ends will burn up due to them being lose and ceating a arc. Hope this helps

Check the Kent Marine site for good schematics and/or give Brian a call @ Aquatic Reff Solutions. HE will be able to get you on the right path and supply the necessary fittings and membraines.
Good Luck
Walter
Plastic caps are going to melt. If you go with BakeLight caps they will eventually get very brittle. The bulbs also have a small vent nipple that points down when in the holder. This nipple (I love saying nipple) is about 2mm. You will need to question what type/ how big of an evironment is...
THe only question that I have with your idea is that the DE bulbs need to be run hot. You can not have air circulation around them. I did the Home Depot DIY using outside quartz fixtures retofitted for the lamp holders. Please post pictures when you are done.
