    I use an old sock and rubbing alcohol when very dirty. Mostly just a dry towel will work. George

    I use about 3100 KwH per month and about 1800-2000 of it is my tanks. My total bill at non summer rates is about $250 but with summer rates it's about $350. I live in Baltimore and we have pretty cheap electricity rates. George

  10. Damsels in an SPS tank

    I have a pair of yellow tailed blue damsels and a pink damsel in my 120g sps and I have 1 yellow tail blue damsel in my 75g sps. The yellow tailed damsels live in the acro coloniesw but don't nip at the corals like the clown and citron gobies. The pink damsel lives in a cave. George

  12. BEST AUTO TOPOFF SYSTEMS?????????

    I use a 5.5 gallon tank for daily top off but I have q 20g tub for more than 1 day's top off, if needed. The system is over 200g so It can easily handle 15 gallons before it overflows but 5.5g is no problem and with minimal sailinity fluctuation. When I use the 20g tub, I always wonder "what if"...

    I agree, I have thought about that every now and again but I think this is less dangerous than the floatswitch hooked to an RO unit. I think that's a disaster waiting happen. What is a litre meter? I'll do some research now. George

    I use a grainger float switch connected to as small mini jet pump and a 5.5 gallon top off tank. I think the whole set-up cost about $30. George
  15. difference between xenia?

    I have 7 types of xenia easily identified as being different from each other. These are all in the same tank but I have seen xenias frags from my tank look different in another system. All of my xenias pulse all the time except 1 which hardly ever pulses. Some of them pulse faster than others...
