  1. Identify the coral

I'd say that's the female version of the ClownKeeper Butt Coral .... Now I have to go find that picture of Clownkeeper mooning the camera. We should do a reef-butt thread. "Can you identify this reefer butt?"
  2. Flame Hawk and shrimp compatibility question

I actually came up with something that I am not sure if I know the answer to. I have seen Longnose hawks eat Sexy Shrimp before. I know Hawks like to eat snails and crustaceans but I've seen them completely ignore them as well. So here I am with a question and I don't know the answer and hope...

  5. Snail stuck in my durso

I suggest NOT using red slime remover. I've seen a lot of problems happen with it and it just covers up the real problem. Do what Len says. Maybe I read it wrong but I sorta fail to see how a single dead snail could cause cyano ...
  6. moorish idol

Remember that these guys looooooooove zoanthids. I have even seen them occasionally go after aiptasia and lps. So if you have a reef and you love your LPS and your zoanthids (I dont care about your aiptasia) ... you need to choose between corals or fish.

  10. caulerpa taxifolia invasion

I had taxifolia growing in my sump. It had a lot of life on it. Nothing eats it, this is true. Nothing eats a LOT of the caulerpas out there. That's why it reaches epic proportions. If you had to have it growing in your sump vs your display which would you pick? The only way to successfully...
  11. NKT's 57gal Oceanic Illuminata rimless project

Ballsy move ... but it looks good. Hope it goes smooth from here. Welcome back to the hobby, addict.
  12. Cycling nano reef tank

I see no problem with a pistol shrimp. They make great additions to nano reefs - as long as it IS a pistol shrimp. Depending on which one it is there are even gobies that will host with them. People often buy pistol shrimps to put in their tanks on purpose. I think nano reefs are a great way...
  13. caulerpa taxifolia invasion

I know this thread is kinda old but ... for what it is worth ... if you pick it off every time you see it - eventually it stops growing. I would say it should stop after the 3rd or 4th time you pick it off the rock at the most - normally. If it's growing though, put it in your sump. As long...
  14. Need Help An Emergency 55 Gallon

Cyano is caused by more than just raised ph or phosphates. Outdated lightning can also be the cause as well.
