I believe it's just a firmware upgrade to use it with their fusion software. Neptune has a firmware update link on their site.

On the Frt guard there is a rubber bumper to stop impeller from starting backwards. They do break off sometimes. I had one break, emailed Hydor and they sent me new ones out for free. They even sent an extra in case it happened again.
