Just read a thread orc that koralai are garbage and get stuck, the go in reverse? I've had a few before, never with an issue just wondering if i got lucky or the folks on that thread had bad luck.

I'm looking to add a couple to my mp's for some more flow in a few spots

I've seen it happen on older models that have been in use a long time... without cleaning.

when that happens to me, I just keep plugging and upplugging till it kicks in. They're not garbage though. I did have one where the impeller magnet swelled up and jam in an old one, but I replaced it. Had it running for 4 years.

Mine started going backwards, even with a new impeller

I have several old ones I use for mixing that do this. I believe they will send you a new impeller if it happens and think it may be improved/fixed on the newer ones.

Thanks guys, i had never heard of any of this before and have only had luck in the past. I guess regular cleaning is a must

On the Frt guard there is a rubber bumper to stop impeller from starting backwards. They do break off sometimes. I had one break, emailed Hydor and they sent me new ones out for free. They even sent an extra in case it happened again.

I have a few older ones that have been running for over five years. However, I also had one of the newer models quit and then run in reverse. So bizarre that they run in reverse, can't figure out why or how that could happen.
