  1. How do you make a puffer fish puff?

My apologies. I am just perpetuating this thread. I shouldn't have posted. This isn't due to whatever responses there are after my post. I haven't read them and for the most part probably won't. My apologies again. I will bow out politely. I suggested to a friend that he refrain from...
  2. Splendid pseudochromids?

Probably a good idea.. If you can, wait for one or two of these fish. I waited two years till one appeared at a store here.. It is the most spectacular fish. Beautiful. By far my favorite fish I have ever had. A tad agressive but.. Goes with the Species. Well worth the wait.
  3. Splendid pseudochromids?

For a pair of wild caughts you will want to have these guys in a tank much larger than six gallons. 8O Much larger. I have a single one and it rules everything. Other than a couple of hermits I can't have ANY inverts. If I try to put a peppermint in there to go after aiptasia.. It's toast...
  4. Ebo-Jager

As an FYI. I had a brand new Ebo stick on in the same fashion. It wiped out my system. Took the temp to 94. So what Rayjay had happen is not unique. I won't buy one again.
  5. Remote DSB . . .any difference/advantage?

Henry, I do this with my system. I have a 6" DSB in my 30 refugium and another 6" DSB in my 45 sump. My main system is a 45 as well. I have seen major growths of various algaes in the refugium but no where near as much in the main tank. Just a few pieces of Bryposis. grrrr.
  6. Time for the commandments of reefing.

24.Thou shall bestow the utmost and best care possible upon those creatures entrusted to thy care. Nothing is too good for thy tank and it's hallowed occupants.
  7. electrical question

reefs, Marco, In DC Ciruitry you can use the VoltsxAmps=Watts. IN AC you can't. They don't equate to be the same. By doing that math you end up with what is called Volt Amps(VA). It isn't the same as a Watt. The best way to find out how many amps you are drawing is to find out the ratings...
  8. Advanced tangers....any experience with:

Awesome.. Thanks. :) Learn something new every day. :)
  9. Advanced tangers....any experience with:

Leonard, here is a question for you about references for species max size. In Baensche it says 45cm max growth for Emily's new tang. Yet on fishbase.org it say max 31cm. How do we read this 14cm difference in sizes given? Which do we take as a good reference? curious.
  10. AmpMaster 3000 Warrantee Question

Rich, When I called today about my pump I wasn't asked for anything. Just where I purchased it.
  11. Any experience with Dolphin Pumps

Very very very quiet.. I have an ampmaster 3000. I agree with Rich on the seal thing. Mine is leaking after only a month and a half. :( As a closed loop with minimal backpressure I can't see a prob. Mine is running a Bullet 3 and I am guessing the backpressure has popped the rear seal. :( :x
  12. ESV phytoplankton

ESV's Spray dried Phyto if used properly can be benefical to your tank. I still use some from time to time(I now use DT"s and Golden Pearls). But you need to put it in a blender and break it up into smaller pieces. By runing it in a blender for two minutes with some water you can break its size...
  13. X10 FireCracker Sale till July 8th

Bought two Bill, thanks alot for the info. I know of two others who bought them up here in Vancouver as well with the info you passed on. :) Thanks again. I'll be in contact for the software of yours shortly. :) Kevin. Not much of a commercial post to me. Saves me a lot of coin. I didn't...
  14. amphyprion ocellarus in one tank.

eli, You will probably get the same response here as you did in this thread. http://www.canreef.com/ubb6/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=000820 Clowns aren't a schooling fish, the same with Damsels or Yellow tangs. If you are looking for someone to say go for it, keep at it...
  15. Closed loop with no drilling?

Feed a powehead into one of the two openings. Intake or outlet. Simple as that. If not that have some way to prime it. A high point with a sealable opening. ie a PVC 'T' with the highest point being a threaded plug you can open to prime and reseal.
