  1. Sick Coral Beauty

Could you provide more details: -- Are the scales outlined in white? - No not outlined, she is just duller in color. -- What does the skin look like where "scales are peeling"? - Appears like the white spots are on top of the scales, like Ick but not like it was last time it hit my tank. --...
  2. Sick Coral Beauty

I was able to catch the Coral Beauty by hand and moved her to move 10G. Anyone have any ideas about the spots? Doesn't look like Ick, they have already survived that a few months ago, it seems more her scales are peeling. Thanks, Deb

Tried looking for past posts, just not finding any that match my situation. My Coral Beauty, heathly for the past six months that I have had her is lookin ill. Swims listlisly on the bottom of the tank, seems not even to have enough strength to swim up to the food at the top. The tail and...

  5. Floating magnets????

I just got the mag-float - great for my 90, esp. since my coralline algae hasn't started to show its colors yet. But a question for you all, do you ever just leave the magnets attached to the tank in between cleanings? I was wondering if it was safe to do so. Thanks
  6. Red Sea Berlin Classic Skimmer

Glad I'm not totally alone, being a new reefer I wasn't sure what I was supposed to see coming out of it. I don't get a foam yet, but I do get a thick layer of gunk up the tube. What I did find was that I had to keep the water level several inches above the intake vents on the pump. I've had...

  8. ID please... yellow polyp of some sort

Bought this piece of dead coral 'cause of its shape and figured who knows maybe these bright little yellow things will actually survive. Been in my new nano for a week now and actually are perking up. Who can name what I found at my LFS? Sorry for the lighting, awaiting my new one to come...
  9. DebC11's 90 Reef

My rock is Fuji and it does seem quite heavy and dense, not much life on it either. I bought it from a local place, boxed up, sight onseen, hence the 2.50 per pound price. It was damp when I got, but to dry so I scrubbed it down real good. I ahve since supplemented it with interesting pieces...

Thanks for the quick reply and the answer! I figure the "Sump" was where it might belong for lack of knowledge and a better idea of which board. Besides it is was a sump item : ) ...so wan't totally out of place. Thanks for the transfer to the correct home. Deb
  12. Iwaki MD30-RXLT ..can anyone tell me?

Can anyone tell me who might be familular with the Iwaki MD pumps whether they come wired with a plug when you purchase them? Reason being, I bought one on eBay and the cord is frayed to the plug, sure we can replace it but the seller is trying to tell me it comes unwired anyway when you...
