Bought this piece of dead coral 'cause of its shape and figured who knows maybe these bright little yellow things will actually survive. Been in my new nano for a week now and actually are perking up. Who can name what I found at my LFS? Sorry for the lighting, awaiting my new one to come.
Thanks!

The Goniopora (flowerpot hard coral) survived. If you have not noticed any growth on it when you bought the "deadrock", then whatever you are doing now, it likes, and you should continue it, and don't change a thing.

Goniopora is a slow grower and often dies in captivity within 8-10 months. The problems are mostly attributed to aquarist not being able to provide proper food for them.

Do a search on the net and on this board under "goniopora" or "flowerpot coral".

Good Luck

I don't think there is new growth, what is there was there. But it is extending further, maybe the last hurrah before it dies off totally. Well see, and I will look up more info on it. Thanks!
