I can't find the thread that would be best to post it in, but I found reference to this on a WAMAS thread (no reference to the original source though). It goes hand in hand what you've been "researching"
cyano outcompetes green algae for P at low N:P ratios,
green algae outcompetes cyano for P at high N:P ratios, and
diatoms outcompete green algae for P at high Si:P ratios.

I thought this was pretty good relevant data. Btw, you should visit WAMAS, the conversation and intelligence level is much higher than here on MR. I think you'd get along well on that site :)
