  1. I Want to start A 125g tank,need help?

    I have a 125g,I have a cpr overflow to carry it to a sump that holds about 60g of water.So far I have not had a problem.Plus in the sump I keep my heater and extra pieces of live rock

    I just started to test my alk levels and came up with 4.5 meq/l,from what I've read tha above the norm,is this too high? tested w/fasttest kit

    What I meant by "jumped the gun" was that I should have bought a alk test before trying to keep sps corals,I currently have 4x160w vho lighting over a 125g tank(2 actinic and 2 white.)maybe youre right about not getting enough light at the base,it was kind stuck in a piece of rock.Thanks.Oh...

    What I usually do is take 2 small pieces of rubble and place the cutting between the rocks and hold it together with a rubberband for about a week. then you can remove the rubberband.Be sure to cut a big enough peice it will shrink a whole lot and also make alot of slime.Good luck

    i have a colt coral about a little over a foot tall i had to make cuttings of the top branches because of the same problem, they did fine after i moved them to the bottom of the tank. i believe the lights are too bright so close to the surface for colts. they do fine in lower light levels.
