  1. Tank of The Month - December 2010

Great looking tank there, very inspirational and modern. Minus the obvious water pumps, this tank is an archetype for how reef tanks should like in the future: great corals, good aquascape and realistic colors. Bravo!
  2. Tye Dye Scolymia

  3. Purple Death/ Nuclear Green

Thanks for sharing Dace, that is a very cool grafting experiment. I really look forward to seeing if the offspring polyps carry the green color. I wonder if the color is due to Green Fluorescent Protein that has "infected" the purple death polyp tissues.
  4. Coral ID Please

The first one is likely a Favites russeli, the others have too few features in the picture to tell.
  5. YEX (Yellow Encrusting Xenia)

Finally, that may actually be a piece of true efflatournaria. Don't frag it for a while so we can see how the colony grows out. It is neither Xenia or Clavularia.
  6. some new fish pictures

Very nice pics sanjay, especially the african basslet.
  7. Video of Four Gem Tangs

I was at House of Fins in Greenwich CT this past weekend right before they got in four gem tangs. Lucky me, I had my camera handy. Check out the video sweetness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ1zdx8XjhE
  8. MR 2009 Calendar (Fish)

Holy Detritus BL007! Some great shots there. The definition on your Anthias picture is insane. The contrast and saturation is a little high on the chromis pic but the scolymia beneath it is spectacular nevertheless. Thanks for sharing. :splitspin

  10. Can someone ID this coral? not the toadstool the other white/green tree coral

Sinularia mollis, probably. S. flexibilis has fewer branches off the trunk.
  11. Off-the-chain Mediterranean tank

    Balanophyllia Leptosammia Paramuricea
  12. Off-the-chain Mediterranean tank

I dont even know what to say. A few sample images and the link.
  13. How many Tangs 75 Gallon tank?

3 tangs in a 50 gallon might be pushing it, you'd probably want 5 or 6 to make sure they can school comfortably. If you have only three than two of them might pair up making for a third wheel tang and that would be awkward for all tangs involved.
  14. How many Tangs 75 Gallon tank?

You should have at least one tang per 15 gallons. Tangs are active social creatures who appreciate the company of others so you should have about 5 tangs in a 75, preferably more. If you have too few they will establish a hierarchy and pick on each other.
