Len, Sorry for the ignorance, but can you elaborate on your clam prep you outlined: (FW dip, quick TMPCC, quick Revive, Flatworm Exit, and worked them with a good ol tooth brush and razor blade) FW dip - fresh water dip... how long do you dip them for? Quick TMPCC? Quick Revive? Flatworm Exit...

Have you thought about a pigmy angel or tang? What about a sea hare? All these should devour hair algae... If you get a sea hare - try to borrow it as most of them starve out in short order...

well to play devils avocate - I have had an achilles in my 100g for 3+ years, it is happy, eats well, and gets along with its tankmates great.

old bulbs work fine... got a new set of bulbs today, they fired right up... I think I got some bogus bulbs...

the ballast is not making any noise, the switch lights are on and it is warm but no noise.

Yesterday I received 2 new South Pacific Sunlight MH 250 double ended bulbs. I installed them and they fired right up. Today I come home from work and neither one of them is on???? I'm powering them (or attempting to...) with a Sunlight Supply Blue Wave 7 250W HQI Dual Metal Halide Ballast...

Anyone kept one of these in their reef tank? I had one a few years back, never bothered anything - trying to figure out if I got lucky and had an anomoly or if these fish are really that mellow.

So I added a large tube anenome to my tank last night, it "reached out" and stung the end of the mouth of my 10" clam. That area is completely retracted and I can see the inside of the shell... Question: do clams tend to recover well from stings or am I going to watch this thing die... before...
