    I'm guessing this is either a joke, or someone who completely lacks the knowledge needed to keep a reef tank. In other words, no way.

    I wonder whether your tds meter is calibrated correctly. Unpurified water (tap water I assume?) should not be 460. A very hard water location will give you perhaps just under 200. I've never heard of tap water being that hard.

    Sounds worth the money to me. I love my RO/DI unit and it puts out about 50 gallons per day. Over 150 gallons per day is a lot. But the general answer to your question is that RO/DI units work pretty slowly. BTW, do you have a TDS meter?
