how long can corals/inverts/fish last in a bag? I live in SI and I gotta walk, take train, ferry, bus, etc. So it will be a long trip back for me.

very rarely do they answer the phone, and be sure you know for a fact the stock is avail??? im sorry to say but my experiences with these guys has always been a horrible experience. Having a good inventory of livestock is one thing, but the customer service is terrible.

BTW fellow reefers DO NOT confuse unique corals, with manhattan aquariums. separate entities which are worlds apart. manhattan aquariums is awesome with a great staff, unique corals not so sure what there take is (since they are in the same location).

the short of it is, get your service skills together, and update your website. tooooooo many times have i seen it on your site, take the time to go there and you not have it. Cant call, cause you dont answer.

My sincerest apologies for the poor experience you had with Unique Corals. As the manager and sole employee of Unique Corals, I will take full responsibility for the way you felt. During the past few months, Unique Corals saw a tremendous growth spurt as a company and I will be the first to openly admit that few crucial aspects of the service have been unfortunately neglected, including serving our local customer base.

Running an operation that involves live web update and customer service for all out of state customers while juggling local pick ups can get overbearing for one individual. As cliche as this might sound, I'm only human... I do not mean to offer up this explanation to you as an excuse but as a harsh fact that I was soon faced with. One must keep in mind that Retail and E-commerce are two very different beasts.

Starting next week, we will be implementing new measures to fully remedy and prevent any shortcoming Unique Corals might have displayed as an e-commerce store. Eddie (some of you might know him from WWOF days) will be joining UC as a fulltime staff which will allow us to be more on top of inventory / stock availability. At all times during regular business hours, there WILL be someone dedicated to answering your calls and questions you might have.

As a growing business manager, it is always a learning process for me and I sincerely appreciate your honest and constructive criticisms. It is unfortunate that I could not make the changes and transitions to reflect our growing needs on a timely fashion before such poor experiences could be had. However, I can assure you that I will do everything in my power to improve and prevent such events from happening in the future.

i have never had a problem with UC or MA but it just shows it takes a big person to admit minor pitfalls and to fix them. congrats vince gotta head down one day and see you guys

Ive had great experiences with UC and Manhattan everytime. Kevin at Manhattan is a great guy and Ive gotten a few frags cut on the spot off of UC's website. I recently dealt with Vince about cutting 2 larger frags from their rainbow acan frag pack. There was no problem whatsoever, and the frags were waiting out in the display when I got there so I could see them happy and inflated first. I was hoping to meet Vince in person but I believe it was the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, so we all had things to do. He was also generous with the head count. Id recommend them everytime, always worth the trip.

If my comments were read thoroughly you would see that I too have had good experiences with MA. But, in usual Manhattan Reefs fashion I should expect this type of response from the members. I was simply casting a broad net as to give feedback in regards to points I felt needed improvement upon based upon MY experiences. It was merely constructive criticism that im NOT going to defend or go back and forth about. Im not in any debate class here.

As for the staff at Unique Corals mainly Vince, I do appreciate your response, and I sent you more feedback via PM per your request....
