i would not say ALWAYS. its def. one of my favorite LFS BY FARR, but the last few times i went there i got nothing because its been lacking anything special to me. nothing cought my eye. and i have seen the display tanks enough to name most things in it lol. but screw it, if you guys say your frag tank is stocked up, then im interested lol. ill see you guys tomorrow!

Me and the wife like going into the city and stopping by. But we stopped by maybe 6 weeks ago and there was nothing. No corals and hardly any fish. There was a lot of work going on in the store, new tanks getting set up ect but nothing to buy

Wish I had known

Wish I had seen your notice yesterday as for me, even driving down from Albany, it is well worth the visit. I agree the display tank is very cool, but it is awesome to just view all the frags they have for sale. I guess like anything else those few that say its not worth it maybe are more jaded from having close to their ideal system, but I for one even just stop by when Im in NYC to window shop. Very cool seeing a LFS with all the selection that they do have, even if they dont have some very "Special" things others here want. Just my two cents for today as I wish I wasnt that far of a drive away.

Went there today and got 7 frags. My buddy got 5. Today was...ok. Not good not bad. It just sucks because to get there took 40 bucks in gas and a 12 dollar Lincoln tunnel charge. And I thought it was always first frag section a 5 dollar section...not 7 dollars. So the 20% off proved nothing. Just brought it back to regular price. it's usually cheaper to go any other time and get the MR discount. so whatever... Also, the bubble algae and bryopsis clean job off my frags took forever. Sadly I lost a few heads already because of all the cleaning I had to do. Don't get me wrong, MA is one of my favorite LFS...but it's nothing like it use to be. I remember a year ago, you guys had some big sale, and the frag tank was OUT OF CONTROL! I got 15 frags, all clean and looked super healthy. Magicians, armor of gods, fire crackers, hammer frag, XL red blasto head, grape acan frag, green nempthia, sun coral, green and pink chalice frag, superman Monti, orange ricordia, and a few others. everything looked amazing! My buddy got an amazing blue and green acan with maybe 25 heads on it for 65 bucks. Today I saw some acans with 5 big heads for 50. I got 3 unknown zoas no special coloration and only a few heads, a little blasto, a brownish orange chalice and 2 faded red favia frags.... Getting the picture? Definitely let us know when you have another big event with amazing pieces and prices again and I'll be there! But until then, it's not worth the 52 dollar price tag just to get there anymore... I love you guys and your shop, but it's been a bit disappointing to be honest... Hopefully you guys capitalize and fix things up.

Me and the wife would go there like a year or more and leave with $1,500 dollars in fish and coral. Im hoping its just the time of the year becuase this was a fun place for me to go every other weekend. If not it will end me from ever going there again and to re start me going back to the Greenwhich Ct stores

I've spent $1000 at the store between July and August, and I can get to the store in 30 min on the subway and walking, so I'd say it used to be good. But I wouldn't recommend going here at the moment. Maybe due to the remodeling or restructuring, but their selection has been slim to non-existent over the past 6 weeks. The last time I went 2w ago, they had lots of new white/completely bleached Aussie colonies at good prices assuming they survive and color up, though you won't know what color they turn out to be. I took a gamble on a white tabling acro, and it's turning out to be a A. hyacinthus that's coloring up to be purple, with great polyp extension within 24h of putting it in my tank. I'm happy with it.

However, their frag tank had old unhealthy or rotting frags and nothing new. The long display tank that used to be the frag tank is now filled with $200+ acan, scoly colonies, and health is questionable.

Anemone selection used to be decent, but no more.

I've also decided to never buy a fish here again. I've had MUCH better luck with fish survival from the Union Square Petco. At Diver's Den I have had 100% success with anything I've bought, so I just shop there now.

I hope their SPS and LPS frag selection improves, otherwise I can't recommend the store anymore.

yea ther doing remodeling and construction to improve there livestock and appearance right now but they stil have good stuff they are by far the best in the city selection is great service is great prices are great joe and the guys are great there just working on the shop thats all its always worth going there thats the honest truth ita the best wont be dissapointed

I was personally disappointed about the long frag tank being re-purposed too. I definitely think that things will be looking a lot healthier and cleaner once they finish with their remodeling/renovations. I will agree though that the store has been looking a bit empty and lackluster lately.
