Anybody tried keeping an abalone in their tank? I saw some online vendor was selling them (can't remember which one now though). Just wanted some opinions on doing so and any experiences anyone has had with them.
I realize this a rather untimely response, but I just noticed the question and that no one else had answered.
I kept quite a few abalones over the years. Remarkably good micro-algae and diatom eaters, not to mention interesting animals in their own rights. Unlike other snails, they can pretty much laugh off anything hermit crabs might try to do to them as well.
