Hello Supply Side!

In the last month or so there has been an influx of Stichodactyla Gigantae carpet anemones. On the wholesale side I know they aren't differentiated from Haddoni. They are characterized by twitchy long tentacles and most times colored bases. I know you are aware of that but it doesnt hurt to put it here

I'm wondering where they are coming from?

Their survivabilty is much like a goniopora; despite looking really good when purchased. This is a consensus amoung us anemone junkies, not just me.

Any input into their collection environment and methods are welcome as well.

Thanks very much for your time!!

yeah, they are here for sure. our store got two of them...of course we ordered hoping to get haddoni anemones, but got giganteas. needless to say they looked like crap when they arrived and both died within a few days of arrival.

I have been contacted by my Hong Kong guys....asking if we were interested. After I sent them all the identification parameters to see which specie they were....we quickly ran the other way.

On the other hand, I have had a few blue carpets (gigantea) come in from Bali which did poorly.

Not my favorite anemone.

If you want haddoni which are much better, you have to look for Saddle Anemone....not carpet.

Thanks!

Eric
