Fact 1
There was a lot of discussion on the main board by hobbyists about ethical things like keeping tangs in small tanks etc
Fact 2
RDO came up with the idea of having these discussions on a new board and called it the industry board and Mary Middlebrook was named Chairman
Fact 3
Mary decided that the first topic for discussion would be the USL and put forward a definition and set out differenct categories of fish.
Fact 4
Mary encouraged hobbyists with the help of some industry types to put forward as much information as they could about individual fish and their survival needs.
Fact 5
After each category discussion Mary gave a summary and listed the fish in that category which should be on the USL.
Fact 6
As the final category was finishing, Mary promised to put forward the listing of fish as the official USL (list) and present it to a meeting of industry types for their adoption ( I understood it was a group of industry types who had the power to see it actually adopted into law.)
7 (Understanding may not be fact)
This meeting (do not know the participants) took place and Mary was rebuked.

In light of the shocking AMDA information posted in another thread the following questions need to be answered immediately by Mary or whoever was at the meeting.

1. Was a meeting held?
2. Who specifically was at the meeting?
3. Was it a MAC meeting an AMDA meeting or what?
4. Was the USL raised at the meeting by Mary and was it raised and was it presented by her in a forceful manner?
5. What was the reaction to her recommendations? By Individuals? By organizations?

Those of us who spend hundreds and hundreds of hours compiling this list in good faith deserve an answer.

Wrong. This forum was not created because of any USL issues.

7 (Understanding may not be fact)

Wrong. I was not rebuked at all. Actually the people at the meeting agreed with 2 of the 3 categories. Obligate feeders was the "iffy" one.

Wayne, it is not my job to remind you of your past. I can't not even believe you have the audacity to ask "Was there a meeting?". It was all discussed right here. All the answers to your questions. In fact, your ignorant responses are exactly what helped me to decide to not involve any hobbyists in any more projects like the USL. Do a search. It's all there.[/quote]

Wayne, please refrain from demanding answers from people. That is no way to generate a civil conversation. I'm getting kind of tired of the general crankiness and victimhood that has perpetuated this forum lately. This is a discussion board. It's not connected to any meaningful organization that can effect any real change. It's simply a medium (offered for free by the owners of this board) for the exchange of ideas and concerns by interested parties. Everyone signed a User Agreement as a pre-requisite for joining this community, that stated that each user would treat all other users with courtesy and respect. That includes name calling, public assumptions about another persons intentions, demanding answers, or any belittling comment about talent, jopb description or intelligence. This is an unbiased, moderated, free resource that anyone abiding by the rules is free to use. I understand that the topics discussed here are lived and breathed by the participants, and that naturally leads to heated discussion. But I also know that you guys know what is acceptable and what isn't. If the behavior continues I can only assume that it is because you think there will be no consequences and not because you simply didn't know. You are all professional adults here.

Now, if this thread can continue in a constructive manner, yippie for us. If not, I'll lock it.

Mary of the over 20 fish discussed, the only ones agreed to were
1. blue ring octopus (because it was poisonous)
2. large sharks (for obvious reasons)
(we spent 5 minutes discussing these0

Hundreds of hours were spent by many hobbyists gathering the the information you asked for.

2.
