Hello all,

I work for an aquarium design and maintenance firm in Virginia Beach and we are interested in utilizing PDA's for data collection, including water parameters, animal inventories, notes, etc. We generate large quantities of paperwork weekly and an electronic format would benefit us both in terms of ease of recording/storage and data analysis.

Does anyone out there use PDA's in such a capacity? If so, has anyone used a program call Aquapilot? Anyone know of any other software designed for such usage?

Thank you for any input you can provide,

I worked for a service company that wrote their own PDA software for data collection. It was really useful, until I dropped the PDA into a bucket of salt water. No wonder Nextel won't insure plumbers and aquarium service guys phones.

It was the first color Palm Pilot, as far as the software, it was written in house, for us, by us. I'll contact the owner and see if he's willing to make it available. The company is/was a partnership between an aquarium guy, a high level Cisco employee (senior programmer) and a network manufacturing company owner. Lots of tech use within that company.
