CLARIFICATION:

This quiz uses actual species names. Many people have guessed using family or subfamily names. A family name such as 'damsels' covers over 300 species, and even includes the anemonefishes (clownfish). You are welcome to use common names of the fishes. The answers will come with a common and scientific name.

Some of you might want to put your thinking caps back on with this new clarification. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough originally

For some reason I think it's a trick question :D Probably not at all what "we" see lots of in the industry here. However, I'll take a shot at it....

All top 10 are species of Damselfishes/Anemonefishes :D

(Just a shot in the dark and probably wrong but what the heck...) D's list was pretty good too - all the "common" stuff.

Cleaner wrasse was surprising - but I don't stock them so maybe that's why it wouldn't have occurred to me. The rest were not surprising at all.

I carry the green chromis and yellow tangs but most of the damsels I have were trade-ins purchased elsewhere, where the owner lived to regret their buy....

I don't stock Mandarins either. I'll order them special for people with a proper environment for them but they are too easily an 'impulse' buy - I've taken in a few emaciated ones that were bought elsewhere too.

I run a foundling home.....
