tonight i noticed for the first time a soft fleshy growth on the side of one of my seahorse, which is now in isolation. i have 6 total ,4 shrimpfish, and 3 pipefish in a 90 gal. 6" sand bottom with a 40 gal. fuge. salinity is .023, ph runs between 8.0 and 8.3, temp around 72. please excuse the pic quality....cell phones...i was hoping someone would know what this could be and the best way to treat it (if any)...thanks in advance
i finally recieved an answer from the camden aquarium care of a gentleman by the name of ron popik. after discussing it with his fellow workers they came to a consensis that was probably where the sh rubbed up against an aptasia enough to transfer some cells....and we all know what happens to those little buggers before you can blink. it took me a little while but i got a copperband butterfly in the tank. beleive it or not i havent seen aptasia for over a week!and the sh took to the new addition just like an old friend.
thanks to those with feedback or interest...
at least we figured this one out
