Worms in the sand bed

What does it mean to the following:

1) fish
2) coral
3) the reef eco system
4) our pleasure of viewing the tank-Naah I think I knwo the answer to this.

Depends what kind of worms. There are many beneficial worms, peanut worms, bristle worms (when they don't grow to 5', like Steve Weasts), spaghetti worms to name a few. However there are some that are no good. For instance fireworms are a no-no. I don't know all of them, but it would help if you posted a pic or knew the ID of it so we can advise accordingly.

There is no blanket statement about all worms, like there is no blanket statement about all fish, coral, starfish or crab.

I believe Steve Weast's worms were Eunicid worms. He found a 7 footer and a 5 footer. Our very own Solbby found a 3 footer in his tank .

Gusanito is actually 4 feet long and is still growing.

His room mate at the moment is a mantis shrimp, . Together they make quite a pair, :sgrin: .

oh man I forgot how creepy Gus looks.

aside from Gus, most worms are good for the tank.
they are part of the clean up crew.

That is the only fear I have upgrading my tank LOL Finding gus' sister or brother when I am looking for my Nassarius snails and my pistol shrimp LOL

Gus is eight years old, that's how long he took to grow that large.

He came in on the live rock in solbbys tank, and was not discovered till he went bare bottom. talk about a surprise!!

I would be scare to death when I see this one!

Luckily the ones in my sand bed does not look like a centipede.

They look like RED WORMS in your backyard during rainly days but only 1/10 the size.

I can assure you they are not black works but are likely to be spaghetti worms or bristle worms.
