Snails, I think?

Hi All. It looks like a sudden outbreak of what I think are tiny snails. There must be at least a hundred. Where did they come from? And is this normal?

it's normal. they were brought in on your rock/frags/macros/something, and have multiplied.
they don't get much bigger than what you are seeing, and their population will rise and fall from time to time.
just be careful you don't get one caught under your mag float. i've scratched a glass tank before like this.

Just make sure you know what kind of snails they are. Its fine to have a huge outbreak of babies as long as they are good snails. Some snails can do damage to clams and corals.

ya i had these. they are like 1mm or smaller right? I forget the name of them, but there should be a thread I posted in this forum about 3-4 months ago on it.

Yeah, they look like the snails in MathewScars thread. So I guess thet're OK?

I'm moderately sure my six-line picks a lot of these off; at least, that's the only reason I can think of why they're all over my sump but only a few of them can be seen in my DT.
