purple, green, brown algae

i have two saltwater tanks and they are both plagued with these different algaes. I took pictures and they are posted below, if anyone could help me identify the different types and inform me on whether they are good for the tank or whether they have to be removed that would be extremely helpful. Thanks

I have to agree - Dean is 100% correct...all of those pics are clearly cyano

What troubled you about the info that you found that makes you think it isn't cyano?

thanks! the purple in the tank is cyanobacteria. but what about the green and brown mainly on the back of the tank?

cyano can be several different colors. several things can cause it, water-obvious, light- bacteria that acts as an algae, nutrients, and lack of flow. suction it out in your next water change, and try to vacuum the gravel to get some of the nutrients out. check your nitrate and phosphate levels. Increase flow and cut back on light.
