I picked up 5 of these. I was told they were lab raised but are no longer available. I figured they are some type of predatory snail but wanted to specifically ID it. Looks like this guy is either hitching a ride or having lunch :)

It does look very similar to the Dire Whelk (per your email John) besides the bright pink coloration of the foot. I'm just trying to figure out what these damn snails eat.

Dean's link confirms it is a whelk to me but I just can't figure out what kind :irked: Well I guess I'll treat it as a carnivore/predatory snail.
