What is this?

Just wondering if anyone ever seen this or had it at one-time. Its spreading like weeds. I notice it breaks off then starts to grow someplace else.

there are TONS of these in the anemone/clam tank at Pratt.

i had a patch of these on a rock not to long ago and its weird my scopas tang was picking at them 1 day and now they are gone.i didnt even know tangs ate hydroids
